3/27/2015 - Walkability Workshop - April 2nd 8:30 a.m. at SVAA
Through generous sponsorship from North Central Connecticut District Health Department, we are pleased to bring Mark Fenton, a national public health, planning, and transportation consultant to Suffield. Communities can benefit from efforts to protect the natural environment and to reduce traffic congestion, especially around schools. Preserving the town’s character is important, along with healthy economic growth and a thriving downtown. Residents of all ages should live active and healthy lifestyles and be able to age safely in their homes. Join us at a community leadership workshop led by Mr. Fenton, who’ll make the case that all of this and more is attainable if we create a more walkable, bicycle-friendly environment. He will provide tips, techniques, and attainable goals on strengthening community health through infrastructure design and cost-effective Complete Streets ideas that are straightforward and being used throughout the country.
As an involved member of our community you are invited to be a part of this workshop on Thursday, April 2, 8:30 a.m. at the Suffield Ambulance, 205 Bridge St. Suffield (Training Room) as Mr. Fenton will offer specific recommendations for our community.
