With the grand opening of Kent Memorial Library quickly approaching on June 29th, the following provides the status of the PCB remediation aspect of the building. Two separate rounds of both air and wipe testing have been completed, and the results on all tests were within acceptable levels of PCBs as mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The full PCB Remediation Report as written by our environmental consultant, Fuss and O’Neill, that was provided to the EPA is now available. There is also a Long Term Monitoring and Maintenance Plan (LMMP) that dictates the monitoring requirements to be followed into the future to ensure the building is safe for staff and patrons alike.
