Subject: Town wide Parking Ban expected to take effect at beginning of anticipated storm.
In anticipation of the pending snow storm that is expected in our area beginning around 4:00 AM early Thursday morning, the Town of Suffield wants to remind residents of the snow parking ban that will be in effect.
Town Ordinance states that no vehicle shall be stopped or parked on any street or road in such a manner as will impede the free flow of traffic while a snowstorm is in progress or snow-removal operations are being conducted. This town ordinance remains in effect until all snow removal operations are completed.
Vehicles parked impeding roadway safety and hindering snowplowing are subject to towing at the owner’s expense.
The Suffield Police encourage all residents who park on streets and roadways to be mindful of this weather related parking ban. Please contact the Suffield Police Department with any questions or concerns before the snow begins falling.
The Town of Suffield public safety services are coordinating efforts with other areas of town government to monitor and respond to the storm as it impacts our community. If you do not need to travel, please remain home and off the roadways. Suffield Emergency Management encourages residents to review the following winter weather tips:
