    Fire Commission

    The Board of Fire Commissioners carries out all duties and responsibilities granted in Special Act No. 89, an Act establishing a Fire Department in the Town of Suffield and by Town Charter. The commission has general management, supervision and control of the department, shall have sole power of appointment, promotion and removal of officers and department members and shall establish such policies and procedures as needed for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.

    The commission consists of six (6) members, each of whom is elected for a term of four (4) years. At each biennial election there shall be elected members of such board in place of members whose terms expire (Suffield Town Charter).
